The NYC 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament is the first of it’s kind in NYC. Players from across the city will compete to earn their chance for a championship against the city’s best and brightest of all ages.

Details

Who – Boys and Girls grades 4-12
What – 3-on-3 Basketball of all skill levels
Why  – 3 on 3 basketball has shown to be a more enjoyable version of the game for players at the youth level as well as spectators of their boys & girls in action.
Where – Hamilton Grange Middle School – 500 West 138th St.
When – Saturday, November 2nd from 9:00-5:00 PM

Advantages of 3-on-3 Basketball:
Athletes receive far more “action time” vs the typical 5-on-5 game as there are fewer interruptions to the game, less players on the court, and more time with the ball per player than in full court basketball. This means your son/daughter will rarely be out on the sideline and in turn will be more engaged in the on court activity!

Basic Rules:
-18 minute running clock OR first team to 21 pts (by 2’s and 1’s)
-20 second shot clock
-Substitutions after every dead ball or by team strategy
-“Loser’s” ball, free clears to 3 pt line
-1 time out per team per regulation game
-At 7 team fouls team receives Freethrow + ball possession
-Sudden death over time

Game Play:
-Teams will be created by players and made into groups of 4 or 5 (maximum) with players either coaching themselves, or having friends/family on their sideline.
-Divisions will be separated by age/skill level with games scheduled according to their demographic
(ex: Grades 4th-6th will play between 9:00-11:30 AM. Grades 7th-8th will play between 11:30-2:00 PM. Grades 9th-12th will play between 2:00-4:30 PM)
-Teams will provide their own matching uniforms or request uniforms from the committee two weeks prior to event

Details for Parents:
-Divisions will be separated by age and skill level.
-Parents are encouraged to coach teams below the HS level
-Gymnasium provides stadium seating for all spectators with great view of action!
-Tournament is hosted by Infinite Athletics and Eastside Escalades, two of the most reputable youth basketball programs in Manhattan

Payment:
-Participation for each team is $150
-There will be an entry fee of $3 per adult or $5 per family.
-Parking on the premises is FREE!!
